Where does the name come from? Do you remember AMSTRAD? This came from Alan Michael Sugar TRADing. REGENTWoods comes from Robert Ernest Grainger ENTerprises. I was saddled with the middle name by my Father, but I am more usually called Bob.

Opening words from my long suffering wife, Linda.

Bob has lived and worked in Norfolk for the past 17 years. He is a computer networking expert who needed to get away from the computer screen and found solace in the garage with a lathe. He also has a wife and 15-year-old daughter and In-laws who live in the same vicinity. Neither his, nor his wife’s cars have seen the inside of a garage since.

Having enjoyed turning as a hobby he found more and more people praising his work who were not just hopeful that he would buy the next round in the local hostelry. Keen to find out if their opinions were of value, he and his wife took a selection of their wares to their first show and found the public liked them too. Having recovered from the shock and restocked (ignoring advice about making toilet roll holders and other mass produced items), they are now doing circuits of shows in Norfolk and Suffolk.

All the work Bob does is unique. He does them to see what will happen if….

He loves wood and finding out about different varieties from all around the world and so explores a variety of sources, including the Internet to find individual pieces of wood to inspire him.

He lives in the centre of Norfolk in the market town of Dereham, which is on the A47 between Kings Lynn and Norwich. Norfolk has a reputation for fine local crafts and we hope to keep up the tradition.
